Star Island

While I was in town, I hooked up with my friend (and beauty blogger) Bernie, who invited me to tag along on a birthday party on a boat! It was overcast and drizzling that morning, but I figured "what the hell?" A boat ride in Miami is always a good idea!” (You know, minus a hurricane or thunderstorm.) This day was no exception.

With good folk and food in tow, we set sail from Brickell. Our ride included an up close tour of the mansions on the very exclusive Star Island, currently home to Gloria Estefan, a couple Real Housewives of Miami, and Naomi Campbell’s former beau Vladislav Doronin, and formerly home to Shaq, Elizabeth Taylor, and Frank Sinatra. The highlight of the tour? The 37,000 square foot home (and gardens) of Phillip Frost, the guy whose research company discovered Viagara. Talk about a come up (pun intended). It’s the yellow one. Oh, and the gallery also has one non-Star Island home. It’s the one with the dome. It belongs to Ricky Martin.
