Museum of Feelings

New York, NY

December 10, 2015

I came across the Museum of Feelings while scrolling through Instagram. It bills itself as “the first museum that reacts to emotions—and turns them into art.” I wasn’t sure exactly what that meant, but the pics looked cool so my homie and I checked it on Thursday.

The “museum” was pretty cool, especially if you’re into light shows (which I am). Each room represents a different mood and is scented to place you in representative emotion. I don’t remember the names of each room, but my favorites were the two that require 3-D glasses. In the middle of the exhibit, I exclaimed, “why do I feel high, but I’m not high? I don’t even smoke!” I also liked the room that looked like cherry blossoms. It’s interactive. You slide your finger across an iPad and it moves the designs. Oh, and if you visit, beware the mirrors in the green room. I walked into the wall. And yes, I was completely sober.

If you enjoy any of the scents, $9 candles are available at the end of the exhibit. You can also take a selfie with colors that correspond to your mood for free.

The Museum of Feelings is open until December 15. It opens at 11AM. My advice? Get there EARLY. For more info: Museum of Feelings
